Bankview is southwest of the Beltline in Calgary’s inner city and down the road from the infamous Red Mile with its lively nightlife and diverse selection of restaurants. There are great views of the Rockies and downtown as the neighbourhood is built on a gradual incline from 17 Avenue to 26 Avenue in the south.
Bankview is in Ward 8 and has a population of more than 4,700. It was established in 1908, making it one of Calgary’s oldest communities. The Nimmons residence, built in the 1880s, is a heritage site that once housed William Nimmons who originally purchased the land for ranching and farming. The area has since experienced major growth, in the 1950s with high-density apartments and townhouses and today, with boundless investment opportunities.
